4th Annual Casino Night and Silent Auction Re-Cap
Thank you to all who supported our 4th Annual Casino Night and Silent Auction!! It was another fun-filled evening with delicious wine, food and desserts, great music, gambling, a number of amazing silent auction and raffle items and a fun photo booth! Thank you to our sponsors which included Four Brix, The Arc of Ventura County, Kiwanis Club of Ventura, Newbury Park Dentistry for Children, and Billy D'z BBQ. Our traditional 5 minutes of silence was a great way to raise awareness about what it is like to not be able to speak. Many commented about what an eye opening experience that was. Many were also very creative in finding ways to communicate without speaking! The table with communication devices and communication boards drew much attention and provided a way for those not familiar with AAC to learn more about it and gain some hands-on experience.
Again a portion of our proceeds will go to the Arc of Ventura County to continue to support their digital literacy program that provides iPads with communication apps to people in their programs who are unable to use speech to communicate.
