A Voice Discovered believes that the purchase of a voice output device whether it be a traditional device or a tablet with a communication App is only the beginning of the journey for the person with complex communication needs and his or her family.  AVD believes that the person with complex communication needs, the family and the community should receive continued support in learning to use the AAC system, implement the AAC system throughout the day as well as trouble shoot any problems that may arise.  

One of the primary objectives of A Voice Discovered is to make sure that people with complex communication needs, their families, and the communities of which they are a part receive ongoing education and access to information about AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), assistance in determining the best AAC system for the person with complex communication needs, and assistance with helping with person with complex communication needs communicate to the best of his or her abilities.
